INCLUSIVE AND SOCIAL FINANCING

 

We are committed to people, with society at the centre. To make this possible, we back initiatives that facilitate access to payment methods and financing services for more and more people.

OUR SOCIAL COMMITMENT

 

We are committed to social progress and personal well-being. To this end, we set up partnerships with social entities that share our values of sustainable development and environmental preservation. Through the Connected to the Neighbourhood initiative, we identify the social entities of the neighbourhoods closest to our branches to carry out activities and programmes with them.

SOLIDARITY FORMULA PROGRAMME

Through this programme, we support social initiatives that complement the "la Caixa" Foundation's Social Action funds with donations and discounts from collaborating companies. The Solidarity Formula aims to help make the projects of the beneficiary entities a reality. 

CaixaBank Payments & Consumers, together with CaixaBank, the "la Caixa" Foundation and its partners, has benefitted over 68 entities with projects, with contributions totalling over 2 million euros, aimed at supporting vulnerable groups at risk of social exclusion.

MOBILITY SUPPORT

We establish partnerships with our customers in the automotive industry to have them provide discounts and/or donations that make it easier for social entities to have sustainable vehicles. In 2022, we carried out 45 projects worth a total of 1.78 million euros.

HEALTH, CHARITY AND SMILES

We develop programmes together with our specialised customers that cover the basic ophthalmological, dental and hearing needs of the most vulnerable groups, with a special focus on children. In 2022, we carried out five projects of this type worth a total of 162 thousand euros.

ICT SUPPORT

To bridge the digital divide, we make joint donations with our customers in the technology and information sector. 

Through these donations, we seek to provide for the material and IT needs of social entities and their beneficiaries by collaborating in their digitisation processes. In 2022, we carried out seven solidarity initiatives worth a total of 70,000 euros.

HOME SUPPORT

We collaborate with NGOs that have projects that are intended to meet the basic needs of vulnerable families: essential products for maternity and childcare, medical products and food. 

We also help buy furniture that is suitable for the facilities of these entities. In 2022, we allocated 182,000 euros to 11 projects in this field.

RENT SUPPORT

We help NGOs upgrade to less contaminating vehicles or capital goods, in response to new regulations on sustainability. And we do so with terms and fees that reflect their economic reality.

OTHER CAIXABANK GROUP ACTIONS THAT PROMOTE SOLIDARITY

These other actions, aimed at our customers and society in general, assist in collecting donations and promote collaboration with NGOs. 

Social Week CaixaBank

MEANINGFUL DONATIONS

ReUtilízame (ReUseme) is a CaixaBank initiative that encourages companies to donate surplus materials in good condition to NGOs. This project promotes the circular economy and has already resulted in 384 donations from 19 entities.

EL ÁRBOL DE LOS SUEÑOS (THE TREE OF DREAMS)

This is an initiative that involves our staff, our partners and many of our customers, who buy gifts for the most vulnerable families. Thanks to them, more than 25,000 children had gifts to open on Christmas and the Epiphany.

PITCH YOUR PROJECT

Every year, everyone who works at CaixaBank Payments & Consumers can submit projects from the NGOs we collaborate with so they can be considered to receive a financial boost from CaixaBank Social Action. Generally, these are entities for which they volunteer or with which they have a specific relationship. In 2022, our staff presented a total of 11 projects, with 5 winners being selected.

SOCIAL WEEK

Our staff, together with relatives, friends and customers, participate in a volunteering marathon as part of CaixaBank's Social Week. In all, we take part in over 2,000 activities across Spain, organised in collaboration with nearly 1,000 NGOs. The actions we carry out during Social Week have very different themes: environmental awareness and action, care for the elderly and migrants, education, disability, child poverty, and more. Starting in 2023, Social Week becomes Social Month in order to expand its impact.

FAMILY PLAN

This is a programme developed by the Adecco Foundation to guide and assist people with disabilities. Its goal is to work comprehensively with the person and their family to improve their autonomy, social inclusion and access to the labour market.

AFLORA PLAN

This other programme of the Adecco Foundation is also designed to improve the lives of people who have some kind of disability and turn it into an opportunity. 

To that end, this initiative guides and helps people with a chronic health condition so they can receive their disability certificate and take advantage of its social benefits.
